About the PTO

The Mount Royal PTO’s mission is to provide an inclusive environment for parents and teachers to connect with the goal of creating a strong school community while providing an opportunity for parents to advocate for their children and themselves. The PTO provides educational enrichment and financial support through events and partnerships with the local community and organizations.

We maintain Two main focuses:

  1. Parent Engagement: we strive to create an inclusive environment for students and families to connect in meaningful ways and to strengthen parent participation through volunteering and events. A primary objective is to connect the greater neighborhood with our school community with a focus on supporting school enrollment through social events and open houses in partnership with school administration. The PTO distributes regular communication via email and social media to keep the school community informed.

  2. Enrichment and Support: through collaborations with partners like MICA and Ladew, we organize enrichment programs for our students that help enhance education, encourage creativity, and expand young minds. Through in-kind donations, corporate matches, and community-building events, our PTO raises money to supplement these opportunities for our students.

We maintain an ongoing relationship with the community via the following partnerships:

  • Educational Partners: MICA, University of Baltimore, Midtown Academy, Bolton Hill Nursery, Young Audiences (coming soon)

  • Religious Partners: Memorial Episcopal Church and Brown Memorial Church

  • Neighborhood Organizations: BHCA, Reservoir Hill Improvement Council, Friends of Reservoir Hill

  • School Network Partnerships: DBFA, Live Baltimore, Strong City Baltimore and the Marshall Alliance

  • Greening Partnerships: Blue Water Baltimore, Parks & People Foundation, Ladew Topiary Gardens, Chesapeake Bay Trust, Bolton Hill Garden Club, Constellation Energy
